Andre aka Monsieur A aka Mr A is one of the most renown French graffiti artists. The Parisian tags and paints a character in either pink or black that he firstly created on the streets of Paris which then quickly appeared all over the world. The character is named Mr A - which Andre has chosen to represent himself on the street. Mr A is a character with big round head, (which ended up being the body as well!) a big smiley mouth, a winking eye represented by an X on the face with most sporting top hats.

Apart from painting Mr A on the street, Andre applied new meaning to his graffiti in 1997 by spreading love for others. He started the project “Love Graffiti” where he would spray-paint the name of one’s lover in colourful bubble letters surrounded by many little hearts in their neighborhood. In 2005, Andre was commissioned by Manhattan Card in Hong Kong to do a live graffiti painting session as an advertising campaign on a 3 storey tall outer wall of a shopping mall wearing only a harness for four hours! I got to meet him afterwards and found him to be such a down-to-earth superstar!! (I am lucky enough to have a canvas painted by Andre with Mr A saying my name!!)

Other than spray-painting Mr A, Andre is also the owner of a club called Club LeBaron and his wife Chloe - a former fashion editor, created a mini boutique called Madame Andre in his honour in Paris. Blackblock, created by both Andre & Chloe are stores located in Paris, Lisbon and Tokyo with rare or limited edition objects ranging from lifestyle products, toys and food.
