Otl Aicher

Otl Aicher has been my favorite typographic designer since I discovered typography. During his life, Aicher was a designer who kept a low profile and largely refused to do interviews for publications. This was unfortunate, as after his death in 1991 the design industry hailed him as a legendary individual of contemporary design practice. Aicher's well known designs include the entire typographic system design for 1972 Munich Olympics, the re-branding of Lufthansa, branding for the lighting firm ERCO and his Rotis typeface design. The Rotis typeface was an especially ambitious but successful project, which merged the forms of serif and san-serif into one type family.
Over the last couple of years, Aicher has been especially recognized as a leading German typographic designer and his monograph was published along with the exhibition '72: Otl Aicher and the Munich Olympiad' in London.

Featuring ‘100 of the world’s best female artists’ and ‘sketchel x CURVY’ satchels made via a collaboration with Jeremyville and some of our local female favourites such as Nadia Hunt and XXzilla – there’s no excuse to miss this one.
