Metal Gear Solid Treasure

2008.10.22

A quick warning about this post for all the ps3 fans out there, particularly those who are fans of the Metal Gear Solid saga, you may want to go to the bathroom quickly before reading on.

If you’ve been a fan of VA for a while, then im sure you’ll have an incling to the fact that I love Metal Gear Solid. I’v posted quite a few things based around MGS in the past, but here I present to you the single most amazing piece of MGS produce that I personally have ever seen. I got an email from my boy James about this earlier this morning and have not closed the window of the link since. Big shout out to James!

So what is it? It’s a fully modded PS3 console, with a 1/4″ stainless steel laser etched logo marquee mounted on the face, and a black laser etched image of old snake. It’s also entirely detailed with carbon fibre and features the FOXHOUND logo on the back (orgasm). The faceplate is also back-lit with 6 LED’s, which means the etching is viewable in total darkness (something most MGS gamers are used to playing in).

It also comes with a customised controller which personally I prefer to overlook…but the creators MORPHEON MODS have a point when they say it bears some resemblance to devices in the game, however I would have preferred a regular DualShock3. But still, in the dark the buttons are all backlit and it has custom PS3 button on it featuring the ‘4′ from the logo of the game.

To top of what is definitely the most exciting thing to hit my inbox in a long while, it’s signed by the creator of the game HIDEO KOJIMA. And you thought it couldn’t get any better. The demi-gods’ autograph was obtained at the first stop on the MGS4 world tour, where they also obtained the autograph of Yumi Kikuchi (voice actor of the character raging raven in the Japanese version).

Oh did I mention it comes with a million extras too? The highlight of which for me is the FOXHOUND carry case.

I am sad though, because I know now that life is just all down hill from here. Nothing can better this.

Check our gallery for more (and bigger) images.

It’s on ebay too, you can check out even more images there, including details on the controller and extras, and a heartbreaking price. It should also be noted that the good people of Morpheon Mods are also donating 15% of the total bid price to a charity for childrens hospitals, childsplay charity.
